DUSWDS, which stands for Drupal U.S. Web Design System, is an open-source based Drupal project created by Promet Source, inspired by the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS). Our goal was to contribute back to the federal community by providing a comprehensive, easy-to-use solution that adheres to the highest standards of accessibility and usability. With DUSWDS, federal agencies can build websites that are not only visually appealing but also user-centric and aligned with federal guidelines.
With over 20 years of experience building websites for state and federal government agencies, we have a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements in this field. Promet Source has hand-built and crafted multiple websites for the federal government. With the emergence of USWDS, we realized that there was a need for a Drupal CMS that is aligned with USWDS guidelines. This culminated in the creation of DUSWDS to further support our federal clients. We have taken the lessons learned from building other federal websites and applied them to this distribution, creating a platform that can be leveraged to create many different types of federal websites that are USWDS-aligned.
